About

My name is Kayla Ernstmeyer. I was born and raised in Lincoln Nebraska. All my life I’ve gone to a Lutheran school, starting over at Messiah and now ending up at Lincoln Lutheran. My dad is the executive director here so all throughout elementary school I looked forward to the excitement of going to a school that felt like a second home to me. I have two younger sisters that have followed in my footsteps. The biggest role model in my life is my Aunt. When I was little, she always brought fun with her and that’s what I loved. Now that I’ve grown up more, I can appreciate all the other hard work she does and who she really is as a person. The main reason she is such a role model to me is because her faith shines through all she does and as a Christian that is something I thrive to do also.

I am involved in a lot of different activities over at Lincoln Lutheran. I play volleyball, basketball, and I run track. I am a part of the choir and another small group that does singing. I also am a part of the new Community Outreach team. I am hoping that by being a part of that team will help me grow in my faith, much like my aunt, but also help me be more involved in the community right here in Nebraska. This past summer I spent time going around to all the different hearts of Lincoln and it was cool to see all the different people who came together to design a heart to now be identified in our community.

Academics are a big part of my life and the purpose of this site is really to give you an insight on some of the projects I’ve worked on over the years. You will be able to see a few posts with drafts and initial thoughts, as well as other posts that show my final compositions. In my own personal opinion, my best writing comes from my senior year of English. At this point I have come a long way in my writing and if you want to see what I have accomplished, feel free to take a look at that 12th grade category.
