This article talked about the introduction of the idea of covenant marriage versus just regular marriage. Covenant marriage is basically what marriage should be in the first place, people are required to put more work into their relationship if it starts going downhill and are supposed to take it more seriously. The thesis of this article was basically introducing the two types of marriages and saying how different groups of people have different opinions on the ideas, then in the article these points are addressed. Some examples of this are people trying to get rid of this new idea, “By making divorce so easy to obtain, the no-fault regime has ruined the lives of countless people.” However it may be hard to go against what they are trying to do, “Divorce rates, of course, had been going up prior to the no-fault movement and contin- ued to go up thereafter; in the last decade, they have finally begun to come down.” I will be able to use this article for some of the quotes it had, it really paralleled with my topic nicely.
